== Pre-launch ==
The first attempt ran on the leaked original 4chan engine (Yotsuba), which the team found bad and hard to set up. They switched to an engine by [[Yushe]] that [[SomeBois]] calls the "3chan engine", a large improvement, handed over with little discussion. It is what the site still runs. [[MANVS]] was the developer and did the security work.

The timeline, per [[SomeBois]]: the team spent close to 100 days trying and failing to get Yotsuba working, then SomeBois asked [[Yushe]] for his engine; Yushe polished it for a few weeks before sending it, and the site was live about a month after that. That accounts for both figures the wiki had: ~150 days for the whole project (SomeBois), and ~1 month of real building on the working engine ([[MANVS]]).
