How to change the wiki's logo (top-left corner) and favicon (browser-tab icon) without touching the server.

Both are ordinary uploaded files. To change either one, upload a new image over the existing file name:

• Logo: upload to File:Wiki-logo.png (use Special:Upload, or drag-and-drop with MsUpload). Square-ish PNG works best; MonoBook shows it in roughly a 150 by 150 px box.
• Favicon: upload to File:Wiki-favicon.png. A square PNG (for example 256 by 256) is fine; browsers scale it down.

Keep the filenames exactly as above. The change is live as soon as the upload finishes.

Notes

• Do not delete these two files. Replace them by re-uploading. If one is deleted the logo or favicon will 404 until it is re-uploaded.
• Browsers cache favicons hard. After changing the favicon you may need a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) or a new tab before the new one shows.
• PNG only (the wiki does not accept .ico or .svg uploads). PNG favicons work in every current browser.
• Wired up in LocalSettings.php via $wgLogos and $wgFavicon, pointing at the fixed /images/ paths for those filenames.
