Etymology

The origins of this term date back to as early as 2019, as an inside joke between SomeBois and his friends, where they would react to eachothers posts with a bread emoji to signify they had laughed at it. Over time, this morphed into a substitute for calling things "gems" like on former 4chan board /qa/.

What to do when you see Bread
