SomeBois is the founder and administrator of 2swagg. The FAQ names them as "the Current Administrator and founder of 2swagg," and every changelog and announcement post on the site is signed by this handle, so most of what the public knows about how the site is run comes through SomeBois.
Most of the personal detail below comes from a written question-and-answer SomeBois gave for this wiki.
Founding[edit | edit source]
SomeBois started 2swagg wanting a board that fit neither of what they saw as the two dominant kinds of imageboard: the older, anime-focused "oldfag" sites on one side, and the soyjak.party splinter boards on the other. Their view is that imageboard culture had stopped producing anything new, that people had been "laughing at the same things for five years," and that the moderation on existing sites was unreliable. SomeBois's stated conclusion was that they could run a site better than anyone else.
The name came from Mecka, who coined "2swagg"; the group wanted something "with swag," and 2swagg was it.
Launch date[edit | edit source]
SomeBois has settled it: 2swagg went live on 13 August 2026. The plan had been the 10th, but SomeBois slept through it; the retry on the 12th ran past midnight, so the first posts landed on the 13th. SomeBois has said they will change the FAQ and anywhere else still showing 8/10 to match. See Site history#Founding date.
"2swagg community support LLC"[edit | edit source]
Per SomeBois, the footer line was added by MANVS, and there is no registered company behind it. SomeBois has floated actually registering one (a Phoenix LLC being free to file with no annual fee) if 2swagg Pass ever brings in money, but as of now it is just footer text. See Contact and legal.
The build[edit | edit source]
The site was first set up on the leaked original 4chan engine (Yotsuba). SomeBois describes it as extremely hard to work with: a very old base with two decades of code layered on top, where one small break can take down the whole engine. Per SomeBois the team spent a long stretch (they put it at close to 100 days) failing to get Yotsuba stable before giving up and asking Yushe for the engine Yushe had written, which SomeBois calls the "3chan engine". Yushe agreed, spent a few weeks on it, and sent it over; the site was live roughly a month after that.
This lines up with MANVS's independent account: a rough, drawn-out setup phase, then about a month of real building on Yushe's engine, which is far more maintainable (a break stays contained to the thing that broke).
Role and moderation[edit | edit source]
SomeBois holds both the Founder and Admin capcodes. Board launches, the textboards rollout, 2swagg Pass, and the forced-anonymous switch on /raid/ were all announced by them.
The day-to-day, in SomeBois's description, is a loop: delete CSAM, delete a raid, delete more CSAM, deal with someone "talking bullshit", repeat. CSAM-spam bots and raids are a constant, which is part of why /r/ exists as a dedicated honeypot. SomeBois calls it a horrible job and will not give a mod headcount.
Money and the Pass[edit | edit source]
In the site's first two weeks, per SomeBois, nobody had bought a 2swagg Pass, and SomeBois was down around $50 on hosting and domains. 2swagg is a hobby that SomeBois funds out of pocket.
SomeBois is defensive about the Pass, which draws criticism from other imageboards. Their framing: nobody is forced to buy it, it is really a donation with a cosmetic perk, and they have considered relabelling it a "donation" to stop the complaints. The CAPTCHA the Pass was meant to bypass has since been removed for everyone (users disliked it, and posts-per-hour rose once it was gone), which leaves the Pass giving little more than an icon.
Outlook[edit | edit source]
SomeBois keeps their real-world location private, in keeping with the site's general opsec running theme. On the site's future they are openly ambitious: the stated goal is for 2swagg to become "one of the biggest" imageboards within months to a year. Growth so far comes from raids and from advertising 2swagg on other imageboards, with much of the userbase arriving from soyjak.party splinters.
Voice and announcements[edit | edit source]
SomeBois's announcements set much of the site's tone: short, enthusiastic, in imageboard vernacular. A few that stand out (full list on Site history):
- the launch post, "WELCOME TO 2SWAGG!!!", thanking Yushe, MANVS, and Princess
- the 15 August 2026 post on ads that looked official: "that wasnt me or my mod team, just an overzealous group of users. (dont make me... ;_;)"
- the satirical SomeBois Guide for New Users on the rules page, written in their voice
Interview answers SomeBois has given are written in a deliberately crude style; this page reports the substance in a neutral voice rather than quoting it.
In site art[edit | edit source]
SomeBois is represented in site art by a small white cat in a red shirt, usually lettered "SOME BOIZ", sometimes in a Japanese headband. SomeBois confirms the character is simply "the admin". Most 2swagg character art is by Slashstabslice, the site's main artist, including the "A GIFT FROM 2SWAGG TO JAPAN" drawing (13 August 2026), which pairs the SomeBois cat with Swaggtan in a kimono. - "Swaggbois", a handle sometimes seen on the boards, is not an alias of SomeBois; per SomeBois it is just a nameroll name.
- SomeBois says they sometimes see a homepage tagline they do not remember writing or adding.
